Get ready to challenge your Taxes. Values have been declining and often the Ratio is lagging. Get familiar with the process now so you are ready for next year. You can do it yourself or have a lawyer represent you. If you intend to go infront of the Board of Taxation, you will need an appraisal and an appraiser to appear.

I provide a link of the Bergen County Board of Taxation which is comprehensive. Most Counties have very similar procedures.
